KNOW YOU CAN
THE ALL-NEW BMW X5

For the South African market you can expect two different diesel engine options. The xDrive30d, which is a 3.0 litre straight six with a single turbocharger which produces 195kw and 620nm. The second engine option is the M50d, this is a diesel engine which uses a multi stage turbocharging setup. It consists of 2 low pressure turbochargers and 2 high pressure turbochargers. So what do the power figures look like? Well, at a measly 1000 rpm the engine produces over 450 nm. The maximum torque figure of 760 nm happens between 2000 and 3000 rpm. The full 294 kw is applied at 4400 rpm.

In the new BMW X5 - for the first time for a BMW - an xOffroad package is available, with which you are always safe and smooth on the road as well as on less firm surfaces. Four selectable off-road modes adapt the all-wheel drive xDrive even more precisely to the current driving surface - for even better traction on sand, rocks, gravel or snow.

Lower weight with intelligent lightweight construction. Special consideration for every last detail - intelligent lightweight construction means that the optimal material is found and implemented for each part of the vehicle. With extremely light high-tech materials such as aluminum and carbon fibre, BMW EfficientLightweight is pursuing the goal of minimising vehicle weight. That leads to even more dynamic performance, increased stability and heightened vehicle safety and comfort.

BRING IT ON.
The all-new BMW X4

No matter what challenges may lie in your way, the new BMW X4 eagerly anticipates them. Its progressive design and the coupé-like contours instantly reveal its thirst for action. And thanks to the first-class driving dynamics, the innovative lightweight construction with a low centre of gravity as well as the even higher performance level – only one thing stands between you and your destinations: sheer driving pleasure.

The exterior fully underlines the thirst for action of the BMW X4. By virtue of its size and three-dimensional design, the double kidney grille in the centre of the front section visualises power and authority. It protrudes prominently from the bonnet in the direction of travel, thus underlining the dynamic driving character. The external air inlets add an even sportier appearance to the front. The wheel housings with their muscular flared design further refine the previous square shape and emphasise the offroad character of the BMW X4. Additional eye-catchers are the Air Breathers behind the front wheel housings as well as the 21” M light alloy wheels Double-spoke 718 M style in Bicolour Cerium Grey matt, gloss-lathed.

The expressive rear rounds off the overall dynamic impression of the BMW X4. Emphasising the sporting character of the vehicle are the slim rear window and the extremely low-slung roof spoiler. The roof line drops down to the tailgate with its trailing edge that forms the especially dynamic rear end.
